BYD Global EV Shipments Push Body Parts Demand Higher
BYD October exports rose 103% YoY, lifting body panel and lighting demand across distributors.
BYD shipped 490,168 new energy vehicles in October 2026, the highest month of the year and 10.97% above October 2025, according to CnEVData. Passenger vehicles accounted for 483,125 of those units.
The line that matters to parts buyers is the export figure: 169,564 passenger cars and pickups shipped abroad in October, up 103% year on year. January to October sales reached 3.62 million vehicles, with overseas exports above 1.5 million.
Every one of those vehicles eventually needs panels, lamps and grilles. A registered parc growing this fast in dozens of markets means replacement demand growing with it, packed to survive a sea voyage and delivered on a date a workshop can plan around.
October sets a new high for monthly volume
Within that result, BYD's Dynasty and Ocean series accounted for 423,843 units, Fang Cheng Bao for 43,872, Denza for 15,152 and Yangwang for 258, according to CarNewsChina's October round-up. Fang Cheng Bao also passed 600,000 cumulative sales.
Exports are the line item driving aftermarket demand
Gasgoo put the January to October export total above 1.5 million units and described overseas markets as increasingly central to the business. At home, China's vehicle inventory alert index stood at 62.2% in October, still in contraction territory.
The wider export market is moving the same way
China's passenger vehicle exports hit a monthly record of 920,000 units in July, up 84.7% year on year, and September shipments repeated that volume, 64.6% higher than a year before. Chinese brands held 77.0% to 77.5% of the wholesale market.
Body kits move fastest on new export models
New models sell hardest in their first year and their panels are hardest to source. The YUAN PLUS, sold as the ATTO 3 in export markets, is a good example: a front bumper and grille kit supplied as one matched item, tied to a model year rather than a body colour.
That is where byd vehicle parts programmes earn their keep. A bumper kit supplied with correct mounting points and sensor cut-outs avoids the rework that follows when a generic cover meets a car never designed for it.

Lighting converts parc growth into repeat orders
Tail lamp assemblies are damaged in ways body panels are not, and LED modules on newer builds push workshops towards original-quality replacements. A typical byd atto 3 accessories order includes a lamp with the connector and lens pattern of one build year.
The enquiry mix splits into recognisable clusters: byd vehicle parts in general, a byd dolphin body kit for the hatchback, a byd shark body kit for the pickup sold in Latin America and the Middle East, and byd seal accessories for the sedan range.

Short model cycles shorten parts catalogues
The second-generation BYD Seal 07 reached dealers ahead of its 5 November launch with 402 hp and an 875 km range, and the Seal 07 line sold 624 units in September. A facelift cycle that fast means the catalogue has to be versioned by model year.
Pickups and off-road derivatives widen the parts map
BYD's Shark pickup and the Fang Cheng Bao off-road models sit at the fastest-growing end of the export mix and carry accessories European suppliers do not hold: bull bars, bed trims, snorkel-ready body kits, off-road lighting. A byd shark body kit order from Brazil is not a passenger-car panel order.
The byd dolphin body kit works the same way: short overhangs and a high glasshouse make bumper covers and mirrors the parts most often damaged in urban use and most often ordered as a set.
From factory floor to container
Every part in these ranges leaves on the same route: inspected at a 50,000+ m2 integrated facility, protected and consolidated with container-density optimisation that targets 5-20% better utilisation and 75%+ lower damage rate before the container is sealed.

What distributors should watch into the fourth quarter
Three indicators matter: the monthly export line, the share of volume coming from new models rather than established nameplates, and the 62.2% October inventory alert index, which says factories are still managing stock before shipping more units overseas.
Hold depth on panels and lamps for models already registered in the destination market, and treat new-model body parts as short-cycle stock rather than a long-term investment. oozom's export desk confirms which part number belongs to which build year before anything is committed.
Key points
- October 2026 volume: 490,168 NEVs, +10.97% year on year (CnEVData).
- October exports: 169,564 passenger cars and pickups, +103% year on year (Gasgoo).
- January to October: 3.62 million vehicles sold, more than 1.5 million exported.
- Chinese brands held 77.0% to 77.5% of the wholesale market in mid-2026.
- China's October vehicle inventory alert index was 62.2%, so the home market is still contracting.
- Body and lighting demand follows the registered parc, not the factory gate.
